Team Gives Back with 5K Swim

Spruce Creek High School swim team hosted their annual 5K Charity Swim at the Port Orange YMCA on Saturday. With nearly 60 swimmers participating it was Declan Outlaw and Elizabeth Meyer who took home the 5K titles.


Meyer topped the girls with a time of 1:03:59.00 only a few minutes ahead of Alexa Hutchison in second at 1:05:49.00 and Camden Pickering in third at 1:07:31.00. Coach Sarah Smiley finished fourth with a time of 1:08:59.00 and Dylin Bundza rounded out the top-5 with a time of 1:17:27.00

Outlaw topped the boys at 1:01:46.00 nearly three minutes ahead of Jack Ramshaw in second place at 1:04:37.00. Brendon Ryan won the battle for third at 1:07:09.00 while Kyle Snowden (1:08:14.00), James Malone (1:11:12.00) and Russel Tullius (1:13:58.00) finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.


A portion of the proceeds raised will go to the Port Orange YMCA learn to swim program
